Simplicity 2560

I made this and did option A. It was a really simple pattern to do, I cant say the fabric is my favorite. But I wasnt sure how I would like the style and wanted to try it out and then make it of some fabric that I loved. I had made a t-shirt of the same fabric and tried that under it and also have a camisole that I had bought that I thought would look good with this. I will take pictures of them both and see how they look. See if its one of those that will go to the donation bin.

lets try this again

I get on here and read so many of the inspiring posts on who is sewing this and that. I keep thinking that instead of reading about it I need to start doing more of it. Seem like the only thing I have been doing is buying more material. Like I need more, 4000 yrds is more then enought to sew what ever I want with out ever going into a fabric store for months if not years. LOL

So here is my plan, I will try to keep my blog current. I will not buy any more material (unless I really have to have it to finish a specific project). I will make sure to post pictures of things I am working on or have finished. I will get out of my comfort zone and do more exciting things when it comes to my sewing.

I bought the MY Label pattern program and its been a thorn in my side. Now dont get me wrong I dont belive its the program its Operator error (ME). So that is also on my work on list to really try to get the kinks worked out of it.

I want, no I need to learn to make pattern adjustments for better fit. This is a area that scares me. I have soooooooooooo many books on how to do it, but for some reason it seems like I cant get the process right in my mind. I feel like I am missing an important part.

So if any one should chance upon this blog and have comments or ideas I am open stop on by and give a shout.

No chickens were hurt in this blog

The chicken part comes from me just being scared to step out of the box and try something new when it comes to sewing. I have sewed most of my life, but followed the rules ( or pattern and instructions). When I was younger I could buy a commerical pattern and other then length it would fit with no other adjustments. Then I got out of sewing alot for myself and did my kids and assorted craft type sewing.
I have now decided to start sewing for myself again, but needless to say this old body is not the same. Now I find I need to make alot of adjustments to make it fit. This is were the chicken part comes in. I am scared to make that first cut.
I have even bought a pattern software program to help. But right now I am having issues with that also. I just need to quit stressing about it and work with it, and post and hope that the talented sewers who's blogs have started inspireing me will give me the needed help.
This blogging is a new thing for me too! I am a bit of a puter dummy :)
